Removing Funky Odors from a Refrigerator!

Smells can change the flavor of foods and more importantly are from mold, mildew or some type of bacteria. Other than weekly cleaning you can place a small box of baking soda in the back of your refrigerator to remove odors and make sure to change the box every other month for optimal results. Fresh coffee grinds are also another very safe and great way to deodorize a refrigerator. Lastly still smelling something inside the refrigerator that isn’t so appetizing? Spills commonly in front of the fridge are wiped well but if that spill is also under the refrigerator when it dries it can form bacteria. The fan on your refrigerator will then be bringing that smell inside, so monthly try to move and clean under your refrigerator to prevent odors! How to Clean Granite Countertops Safely & Green Cleaning

How to Clean a Granite Countertop Safely and Green Cleaning
White vinegar is a great disinfectant and safer for your family than chlorine bleach in cleaning your home. Clean & disinfect your granite countertops with a 50/50 mix of vinegar & water. Vinegar is approved for use in poultry processing plants to disinfect. Though soap & water is a natural cleanser it does cause a build up on granite over time and may ware the seal on the stone. To complete the cleaning process of granite for a shine, simply dry and buff with a quality microfiber cloth.

How To Choose An Upright Vacuum

  • Consider Features: Cord Length, Warranty, Manual carpet-height adjustment for different carpet styles or picking up fine sand on hardwood floors, attachments for stairs & upholstery or do you have a canister and most importantly if you own a pet how they perform with pet hair pickup. Recently the Hoover U5491-900 & Oreck XL were voted among top consumer choices for Pet Hair Removal!
  • Bagged or Bagless: Bagless are less expensive long-term but can be messy & dusty to empty.
  • dB Rating: This is the Noise level of a vacuum measured in decibels. The higher the dB the loader the vacuum. Typically above 80 will be very load for office or residential environment.
  • Weight: Heavier doesn’t always mean stronger.
  • Amp: Though many folks believe a higher Amp means more power it isn’t always the case. Many 7 amp vacuums outperform 12 amp vacuums.
  • CRI Approved: This is an institute rating of vacuums that are Green Label approved and better indoor air quality protection.
  • Price: Higher Price tag doesn’t always mean better performance. The Hoover Tempo was ranked among the top for residential home owners by a leading consumer magazine and cost is under $80!
