When you open up this canister vacuum by removing the casing the only thing inside is really the motor attached by two wires. One wire goes to the switch to turn the vacuum on and the other wire goes to the vacuum cord. You simply remove the old vacuum motor and replace the new one by attaching the two wires as the old one was attached. The Hoover vacuum motor is just over $50, but once your replace the motor you really have a brand new vacuum cleaner again.

If your vacuum isn’t sucking the way it originally was and you have a new motor, the vacuum hose may have tiny holes that take away from the vacuums power. Take the hose off the vacuum and turn the vacuum on. Put your hand up to the vacuum area you attach the hose to and see if your hand can pull the vacuum across your workbench while the vacuum is on. If the vacuum sucks to your hand then most likely you have something stuck in the hose or your vacuum hose has tiny holes and needs to be replaced. You can attach the vacuum hose to the back of the vacuum and turn the vacuum on. This will blow air through your hose to blow out anything that may be stuck.

Disappointing

Lightweight vacuums have so many advantages and with today’s technology they can be manufactured to perform just as good as the heavier models. Think of those traditional great performing heavier models like the Kirby vacuum cleaners or the older Electrolux vacuums. These are great vacuums but can make a task that should really be done daily not fun! Lightweight vacuums make cleaning less stressful and can perform just as well as the heavier older units. The Sanitaire is a very strong vacuum that can handle rough use and the parts are easily accessible for repair. For rougher commercial environments this is a great commercial vacuum if a bagless vacuum is ok.

Choosing a lightweight vacuum for your commercial business will make vacuuming that much easier. As mentioned earlier having additional features like attached tools that can add weight might not be worth the pain of having a heavier vacuum.
