Choosing the best garbage bag and trash can liner can save you money. Other than making sure you have the correct gallon size bag to match the can, you’ll want to make sure that the quality of that bag will hold the trash properly without tearing and spilling. There are hundreds of styles and thicknesses to choose from.


New advancements have helped manufacturers produce thinner bags that can actually be stronger than thicker liners made from less quality materials. The following a guide to assist in choosing the most appropriate trash can liner.

 
Bags thickness is usually stated in mils or microns. The thickness of Low Density bags are measured in Mil’s.
  • Less than 1 Mil is typically light
  • 1-1.5 Mil is typically medium.
  • 1.5 – 2 Mil is Heavy
  • 2 Mil & above is Extra Heavy
Size Guide:

  • 12 Gallon & Below: Small Wastebasket
  • 12-20 Gallon: Kitchen bags or office
  • 20-30 Gallon: Larger Trash Cans
  • 30-55 Gallon: Industrial & Lawn Care
