Practicing good hand hygiene in our school systems has many benefits. Over 22 million school days are missed each year due to colds and children being sick. Teaching our children to wash their hands regularly with hand soaps can greatly assist in fighting the germs that make children sick. Hand soap should always be considered the number one choice of washing your hands, though when soap isn’t available Hand Sanitizer like GOJO or Purell have many benefits.
Gojo Sanitizer released a study that showed over a 50 percent reduction in absenteeism. The study showed classrooms that used Purell Sanitizer regularly compared to classrooms that didn’t had a dramatic reduction in absenteeism. Gojo Hand Sanitizer also stated that only 53% of children wash their hands after bathroom use and only 18% of those actually used Hand Soap. The center for disease control stated that hand hygiene is one of the most important steps for preventing illness and stopping the spread of germs.
Gojo makes it easy to help children with plenty of options. For classrooms Gojo offers Purell Push Style Hand Sanitizer, Purell Hand Sanitizer Touch Free and even Purell Wipes. For washing hands when a sink is available Gojo has many different hand soaps. Again Gojo offers touch free hand soap dispensers and push style hand soap dispensers.
Education is extremely important for the countries children and doing everything possible to reduce children’s absenteeism is important. Good hand hygiene is proven to assist in reducing illnesses and it starts with children washing their hands regularly with hand soap and when not possible using hand sanitizer to rid their hands of germs. Learning opportunities can greatly increase for all children when good hand hygiene is taught to all children. In conclusion our schools should greatly increase educating and teaching our children how to minimize illnesses with good hand hygiene practices.
